So, I've joined the ranks of bloggers! Why, I'm not sure. I doubt what I have to say will be life touching and meaningful, or be viewed by millions. But hey, everyone's doin' it!
Hmmm...what to say.
Been spending a lot of time out hunting now, finally. I have two stands up, one at the neighbors, one at the cabin. Both are showing to be great spots. I've seen a bunch of does at the neighbors, and a couple does and small bucks at the cabin. Just biding my time for now to see what I want to get - the season is still early. Even though I haven't gotten anything, I've already processed one deer (for one of the guys leasing the cabin), and helped a friend with another.
I guess I'll share what I made for dinner - because it was yummy! I kind of made it up, so I'll just name it too!
Redneck Reuben
2 slices bread (any kind - rye would be best, I just used white, because we had it)
Russian Dressing (see below)
Sauerkraut (I used homemade)
Left over roast venison (we had a neck roast in the crockpot last night)
Some sort of cheese - I like swiss :)
Russian Dressing (from Recipezaar - adjust amounts as needed or to taste)
1 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup prepared chili sauce
1 teaspoon onion, minced
1 teaspoon horseradish
1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon parsley, minced
1/2 teaspoon paprika
Mix up ingredients for dressing. Toast bread. Put warmed venison on, then cheese, microwave til melts, then put sauerkraut on, then put dressing on the other slice of bread, make a sandwich, eat!
Thus goes the first installment. Time to clean up and go to bed!
